Aniline leather from Elmo, ELMOTIQUE is slightly thinner (1.0 - 1.1mm)
than some other leathers. This results in a flatter grained appearance
ensuring a sophisticated, elegant look. Average hide sizes are approximately
5 square metres.
As a pure Aniline leather ELMOTIQUE does not have
any pigment or plastic sprayed onto its surface during the tanning
process, thus retaining a unique and natural softness. This also
provides the sitter with excellent comfort due to the leather's
ability to breathe naturally.
Only the very cleanest raw hides are classified for
pure Aniline leathers, however, because of the lack of artificial
embossing there may be natural hallmarks such as insect bites and
scratches still visible on the finished product, these being a sure
sign of a superior natural leather with its own individuality.
Pure aniline leathers do not have a protective coating
applied to the surface and are therefore more susceptible to sunlight
and are not recommended for furniture used by small children or
for high traffic areas where food and drink could stain the leather.
For these types of areas a semi aniline leather is preferred.
This product is manufactured by an environmentally
